General description

In our digital audio universe, the master clock technology is essential. Phase noise and jitter are the two keywords to embody this new dimension in high resolution audio playback. We have taken this technology from instrumentation world, and have made revolutionary developments in digital audio playback sources such as music servers, digital-to-analog converters and LAN switches. On the market these devices often have clock modules with TCXOs and OCXOs, but the clock sources are only free-running models like islands with no phase lock stability improvements. From electronic instruments and recordings studios, there are well-known techniques to achieve better oscillator frequency stability, lower jitter and phase noise, the only way is to build multi-frequency master clock architectures with phase locked loops (PLL). This is a less traveled path, but it could be a realistic audio performance with extreme sound performance, solid phase stability, more details in music and verity in digital playback. All of our audio equipments have built-in master clock generators, this is a basic feature in our product lineup. If you are interested in a higher stage audio performance, with a Reference Master Clock module you can drive all your Core Audio devices with only ONE reference master clock source! KAGEN PREMIUM is a 10MHz OCXO-based reference master clock source. It has four independent signal outputs with individual fanout buffers and unique impedance sensitive output circuit to display the loaded state on each outputs. The output signals are pure sinewave, 75 ohms characteristic impedance. The built-in test equipment helps you to observe the actual status of the current and the temperature of the oscillator module. On the front panel, there are LEDs to monitor these useful features. KAGEN has standby mode with extremely low power consumption.
